Both of the boards for this project are laid out, next to each other to document the process of this project. [ physical> digital> physical ] This project started by making a small physical model out of paper and tape. I then used digital images to recreate a digital model in the computer. By creating the curved surfaces of the model digitally, I could then look at how to replicate them using 3D Rhino and a CNC laser-cutter. The process of starting an abstract physical model, then refining the design digitally and being able to easily and immediately outsource that model, using the laser cutter was a good learning experience for future studies of fabrication techniques.  Some of the later studies are the digitalfabrication and digitalCRAFT links.
